REFLECTION
Before
I come to METU, I did not know how study and become successful about lessons. Actually, I had worry about exam because I did not pay enough
attention to lessons. I've been involved in various activities with my
friends and so most of my time was going out with my friends. I
could never entered the atmosphere exam. When I had bad exam points, my
family and my teacher started to help me and they gave me advice.this situation
is nurture. Therefore, I realized that I needed to start to study. I am always
talented and smart person but sometimes ı dont use these abilities. This condition
is nature so, I had mathematical and
visual memorization abilities but I needed to use these abilities by getting
help my family and teacher. I believe that we should think good nature and nurture
as a teacher to be succesful for our students.
I'm happy to you were succesful in high school and being my classmates in METU NCC :) I agree with you about our bad education system and as a result of this getting bad points... We will change this as a teacher, Don't worry my friend ! :)
YanıtlaSilHi Ezgi! I think as a result of being a kind of "victim" of Turkish education system, each of us experienced these stages. I think Turkish education system is not very efficient in distinguishing nature and nurture. I agree with you as future teacher, it is very important to be aware of nature and nurture.
YanıtlaSilHi Ezgi! It's good to see that you have self confident about yourself. Also you are aware of what's going wrong in your education life. These properties can be used very efficent if you combine and apply them to your learning process. I hope you'll get your dreams.
YanıtlaSilHello Ezgi, I read statement about your cognitive talents and so, I believe I might have some beneficial advices for you. First, it is great that you are all aware of your "anticatalysts". This means that you know what you require/are missing in order to proceed on the path of being successful. I believe that the key you are looking for is "focus". You say that you are talented and smart. These qualities are the "energy drinks" of a student, no matter in which educational system s/he is being educated. So, focus on your abilities and combine them with what you have learned from your advisors. (Friends/Instructors/Parents) In doing so, I believe that even you will be surprised to see how fast this method starts serving your purpose.
